This is a new feature in gmail. Are u out of space and u have to delete the mails by yourself explicitly..So now this new feature helps you to archive mails automatically whenever you reply to mails i.e it adds a extra send and archive button which helps you to do that.
So how to enable?? Go to settings tab select labs under and enable the send and archive feature and save your changes
